Hi board game geeks! My name’s Doddy and I’m here to help you ‘Kickstart’ your game collection by navigating the choppy waters of crowdfunding campaigns! I’ll be looking at which games deserve your gold and which you should avoid like an orc encampment! On today’s edition we’ll be looking at Halls of Horror by Maciej Mlynek.
So some insane, crazy, maniacal person, known as the Master of the Ceremony, has gone and locked you and few other people inside a house. Trapped and the state of panic sets in, you realise that this is a a game, a sick and twisted game where the victor gets to survive. Best prize for first place ever!!
Halls of Horror is a exploration game where you will be competing against other ‘volunteers’ in this mansion that can only be described as nightmareish. Seems straightforward, go about the mansion, get two keys and get to the exit… If your opponent has a key then go take it from them and throw a few punches whilst doing it. 4 players enter and only one leaves!!
The game is for 1-4 players that will battle it out, solve puzzles, and generally loot everything you can to get the edge against your opponents. But, beware!! You’re not alone in the mansion. A hulking, monstrous killer is roaming about the house, and they don’t discriminate!! It sees you you best run for your life!! Though you may die in the game you are not out. Shock horror!! You take control of the killer and can then seek out your foes and deal out a good helping of revenge served on a silver platter.
Every game has its own unique feel with 50 room variants. It’s like going into a sweet shop not knowing what you want, and walking away with a pick n mix. So many options!!
The rules are set out so they are easy to follow, everything flows and so will your foes blood. It’s worth a look for the horror fans out there. And if you can’t stab your opponent, then hugs are good, hug them pet them and squeeze their life force out of them forever. Haven’t seen so many people chasing keys since Key to the Kingdom.
Pledge now for $49 (approximately £39 plus p&p) to get a copy of the game. Campaign ends on June 14th 2019.
