Hi board game geeks! My name’s Doddy and I’m here to help you ‘kickstart’ your collection by navigating the choppy waters of crowdfunding campaigns! I’ll be looking at which deserve your gold and which you should avoid like an orc encampment! On today’s edition we’ll be looking at Dwellings of Eldervale from Breaking Games.
Dwellings of Eldervale is a worker placement game, tableau control and power greedy murder area of anything that poses as a threat. 1-5 players take on the task of controlling the area, the elements, you gather spells and go on epic quests. It’s time to fight them beasts, loot it all, claim the magic and dwell the lands.
There are 8 player boards, top that with 11 factions currently (more potentially can be unlocked), and a tile placement system that will make every game you play different. Place your workers out to claim locations or retrieve them to send on quests. Summon special units like wizards, grand warriors or even push the boat out ‘go big or go home’ dragon. Yep there are dragons in this box.
Secure a location and dwell there to gain points and also secure the combat advantage, totally needed in any game. Fight your opponents for glory and just remember, if you’ve secured the item it’s yours anyway soooo you may as well take a wild swing with Chad the worker to knock out a dragon… 50/50 odds to do it, you either will or you won’t.
Then if fighting each other isn’t enough, then there’s the beasties that roam the land of all sizes and shapes. It won’t be a walk in the park on this one. Though it will be amazing fun. Spells and prophecies deliver perks, bonuses and complete carnage.
Then take a breather and advance your elemental power, all the power, all the cosmic power!!!
Now I’m not one to go for the extras but, I so am. Look at this beast of a croc!!! I am one for going against the odds in a game and pushing my luck. I would love to fight some of the big heavies that are available to be added to this pledge. I won’t post them all as I want you all to see their beauty.
Though this second exclusive is amazing. Solve the riddle or pay. Now I know a fair few have this habit of paying to win but, I actually like this idea. It shows that the pledgers are wanting to get involved and contribute towards a great thing. Go have a look and see you at the next one.
Pledge $69 (approximately £55) plus p&p to get your copy. Campaigns ends on the 25th July.
